The Mideer Chenille Stem Craft Collection turns a box of fuzzy stems and pom-poms into jewelry a child can actually wear. Over 200 pieces are supplied, including 155 chenille stems across six coordinated shades and 128 pom-poms to match. Real bases come in the box as well: two headbands, a five-pointed star clip, a heart-shaped clip, two beaded chains and a glasses frame, so finished designs clip into hair, sit on the head or hang from a school bag. The chenille is densely woven, so it bends into a shape and holds it instead of drooping, and the pieces keep their rounded fullness after handling. An illustrated booklet works through each project in stages, from choosing materials to finishing the piece, so a child can follow it without an adult reading every line.
